For me, it's makeup. I take a lot of pride in trying new makeup techniques, especially if I'm just in for the night and playing around. Focusing on one little thing at a time is relaxing!

Aside from petting animals - I know it's not a hobbie but just something that really relieses so much stress and makes me feel calm- The only thing that has worked well for me is music. Playing the guitar and singing has a massive effect on my mood. I have felt it change the way I'm feeling at the moment many times before, so every time I'm feeling too anxious I immediately seek to play my guitar and sing really loud. I really love doing it. It's helped me a lot.

i dont count the following as my hobbies anymore. but just sharing ideas. Cant seem to find any that worked for me now. Neither nor i have the strength to explore.

- Swimming, Anime Cartoon, Computer Gaming i.e. JRPG, Bus/Euro Truck Simulator, etc., reading tech forums, cycling

Now... more of complusive behaviors

- Kneeding Dough (but havent been turning out well), fake meal preps/hacks, drawing, computer pixel art coloring, reading online articles i.e. mental/physical health, cooking, nutrition, fitness, self-help, diets/fads, etc., 7cups forum refresh, Mindless YouTube, etc.

---------------

If anyone has tips on getting out of the disordered mentality, I'll appreciate any form of sharing.

Many recommended me to try something new, but i find it difficult. giving reasons like... costly, no energy, don't like, fear, uncomfortable, etc.

- tried things like, photography, music-piano, meditation, mindfulness awareness, yoga workout and flow

- even "forced" myself to go back to the past habits that does not seem to bode well now

For me, I can normally take my mind off of things by doing something artistic. I sometimes play the violin, sing, I'm also learning guitar. Painting and drawing also helps. I often find that I am able to find peace and solitude within music or art. I am not that good at makeup, but it is something I do sometimes to relieve stress. I think there's something about it that mixes art and gives me confidence. It brings me happiness and can allow me to express myself and it also helps to sooth anxiety. If I feel like it, I will also read a fiction book to sort of, "escape" reality for a while.

1 good thing for my anxiety is to really take a a deep breath in and out, I get really mild anxiety because of everything that happens at once. Then I hyperventilate and faint or pass out. Anxiety to really get me relaxed is sleep or some good tv or a friend and depends on that friend.
