HI! So I have been doing research and this theory is to NOT fight your panic attack.Let it happen! The stems from the theory that (as we all know) when a panic attack happens, adrenaline fires through our bodies and we need to get rid of it. So, roll around, move those arms and legs, cry, scream and just face it remembering that it will only last 15 minutes and you will be ok! This is supposed to remove any learned anxiety because you deal with it as it comes instead of hiding and you wont carry that heavy anxity all day. There are so many postivie thing I have heard of from this. Have you heard of it? Have you tried this? If you have, how was it? (if you don't mind sharing)

Very cool.. I think it helps us get rid of all that adrenaline quicker rather than a slow build.. The other thing I recently heard was to act like youre excited rather than afriad. Kind of like when you get on a roller coaster.. Hype yourself up about it and you will not panic from the adreanline rush.. I havent had a chance to try it yet but I might lol

maybe its not just about 'riding it out'...maybe it's about using up the excess adrenaline... and the physical stuff helps burn it off? this could be worth trying. Thanks for the post.

Yes, I think its about letting your body just go with it and act exicted rather than afraid. Hopefully it will help you and keep us posted :)

@Pumpkin74 no no, i do not suffer from panic attacks. but logically your suggestion offers practical workable solution to i guess every emotional anguish, not just panic attack.

Ahh.. Well, I am so glad you are not affected by panic attacks. I wouldn't wish them on anyone. I can see how this can be used in many situations and would releave a lot of stress. :) Let us know how you do!

@Pumpkin74 I've done this in school. I fell to the ground out in the hallways and let my panic attack happen, it gathered a lot of teachers and staff members and scared my friend but I felt better afterward. even if people did think I was having a seizure.

Wow.. It would be scary to see but maybe as time goes on, they will become less and less and you wont need to have such troubles. Im glad you are working on things to make it better. How are you making out now?
