How do you feel after having a panic attack?

Hiya Everyone,

Anxiety can be different for everyone so I was wondering what thoughts and feelings you experience after having a panic attack.

I'd say I feel drained and hopeless. Sometimes depression kicks in afterwards too.

Let me know!

Before I learned that I wasn't actually having a pre-immediate heart attack, I was confused and mad and depressed about them. Not to mention fearful. Now that I've learned coping skills they don't come as often and I know that it's a signal for me to pay more attention to my thoughts before my body does so for me. Mediation has been key for me. So now, after one, I don't feel guilt or shame or anger or fear. I just try to be kind to myself, understand what was keeping away from be alert, and making adjustments.

I don't know how to really describe it. I'd say drained yet relieved.

My head hurts, a lot. I also get very shakey and cold. Usually take some pills and then a nap.

After a PA, i feel tired, drained, and i feel shame. It shakes my confidence and hurts my self-esteem. I feel helpless and like a fool for not being able to control the chemicals in my brain and my body's reactions.

I feel the same way. I fee silly because I got myself all worked up, then when I calm down and think why the heck was I so worried about that!

I've been having them for a while, but I didn't know what was happening until recently. I could feel my heart rate pick up and I thought I was going to pass out and my hands would start trembling and my thoughts would start racing. I am not sure why it happens when it does, but I guess I'm glad that I know a name for it now and can start to keep track of what's going on before it happens to try and avoid it.

I feel exhausted, and I get a headache afterwards. I also feel a little bit shaky and lightheaded for a couple minutes

Like breaking something, glass against my head, or running away into a cave and never coming out. I have embarrassed everyone after that moment and should no longer show my face on this planet.
