Been in my house since November 2009
I became agorphobic when my ex-fiance hung himself while he was on the phone with me. I went to his funeral and never left again. I rarely find the ability to get out to a doctor's appointment but other than that I've not been out of my house since November 2009. I don't see it ever changing.
I can’t imagine how much pain you hold from that. Over a decade. Do you find it to be more comforting to be at home or find it more as a punishment? you did the best you could, regardless if you accept that or not but to make your life harder for yourself isn’t fair to you. take small steps to rebuild what has become your new normal. i hope you’re getting help for this because this isn’t good for you 🥺 sending you lots of love and hoping you have better days, 🐰❤️

It was very difficlut to stay home in the beginning. I once had a life and was used to going out and running around all of the time. I had to come to terms with it and accept it. Since then I've loved being home. There's nothing much I miss outside other than going and doing my own shopping and maybe going to the library or video stores. Just little things like that I miss.
It was very hard when he died in the beginning. It is still with me but I don't think much about it anymore.

I should also note that I am a loner and severely social phobic and have many severe mental illnesses. I love to write and am always on my computer and love old TV shows and movies and I have a cat that I love and adore and I take care of my daughter's rabbit. I have a boyfriend who really doesn't go out much other than work and shopping and running errands. My kids stop by often and we are always chatting online on FB. I love to clean. Everything that I'd normally do is here in my house. Most other people would not be able to cope. For me it has become easy. The key for me was acceptance.

I enjoy my life at home. I hated it at first. It was awful. I'd try to step outside but I couldn't. After that year of sleeping and crying I wound up having to get my mind around it and find acceptance. Thank you for your repsonse. I'm glad we're all here getting help and support.
