I have very weird fears that most people probably don't have......
I have a fear of swimming pool drains, lights, filters, jets, etc.
I have a fear of any shower head I'm not used to.
I have a fear of elevators.
Can anyone explain why I'm so terrified of these things? Does anyone relate?

There is no definitive answer as to where fears stem from. Some argue genetics, others life experiences with others stating that both are a factor. I personally have a fear of being late, despite not having experience of suffering negative consequences as a result - it's hard to say where these things stem from!
If you're comfortable doing so, there are treatments that you can explore that may be able to help you out a little.

Alex explained it quite well. But I want to add that many fears are fixed with anxious thoughts and also many fears happen because of a bad experience as children (since we don't remember we can't explain why we have it).
I'm afraid of slugs, maggots, and the like, and I know why. omg. big yuck, gotta go.
