Anxiety with food?
Hey everyone. So this thread is part of my story and part of a conclusion I reached. I would like for someone to share their thoughts with me on this :)
Well I've always had massive anxiety with food since I was a kid but it got worst in 2015 when I was diagnosed with IBS. Was really traumatic for me. Nowdays I'm pushing forward and trying foods I would never touch before so happy about it.
This said I started to think why am I even anxious about food in the first place. And well.. I reached a conclusion.
I was a REALLY small baby, was even a miracle I survived. So when I started to grow up with such a fragile health my parents and rest of the family were really scared , and because of that they would force food on me. Many times I would throw up because was too much for my stomach, but the majority of times I actually threw up because of anxiety. I felt my family's anxiety and my body felt it too so I would throw up.
This said I'm realising how many parents induce anxiety without realising in many subjects, but specially in food. I guess parents aren't taught better techniques with feeding , and honestly no parent has a guiding book when they have a kid. But without them realising they induce alot of anxiety into kids.
About eating well, not eating too much, about not eating junk food, about the kid's size.. instead of simply limiting bad food out of the house , or in a fun way let kids explore with food, parents (naturally) panic with this topic.
Now I'm realising how me growing up in such an anxious matter affects me as a 22 year old adult.
Sorry if this is a silly thread but I thought is something no one really talks about and that might be important for people to understand their anxiety a bit better, and if someone has kids here, to think about it a little.
I hope someone finds confort on this thread. Also would love to hear your thoughts on this aswell :)

Hellow there!
I read all of it and I'm glad that you found the root your anxiety <3. Your parents forcing food to you sounds really bad and terrifying :'(. My thoughts about this is that you're a strong person for going through far in life! Sometimes I worry about whether my food is clean or not, which makes me lose my appetite more. I'm also happy that you shared your story with us :3
