Hi everyone, I am new here. I decided to sign up as lately I feel like anxiety is getting the best of me. My mind is focused on the same thoughts and worries all day long - often nights too. I am especially anxious while working and I feel like every task - even if small - causes me panic. I started pushing people away and I want to stop before becoming a person that I'd hate. Thanks for reading.

Hi! I am new here and as well and signed up for the same reasons... anxiety and it getting in the way of the things I need to do. I also experience anxiety while working, it helps me to put something on in the background that I am familiar with like a tv show or music. Do you have things that ease that anxiety?

Hello, thanks for replying and sharing your experience! Yes, I feel like anxiety is getting in the way - and sometimes I switch on music as well! A couple of things I started to do a few days ago to ease the anxiety are: 10 minutes breathing exercises every day and also when I feel like the anxiety is taking over, I start writing down all my concerns, thoughts etc and I feel a bit better afterwards! Hope this can help you too 😊

I have the same issues. I have a very specific anxiety that literally controls everything I do. I hate who it is turning me into. Have started therapy but wanted to be able to just talk to people who know what anxiety is.. therapy is good and all that, but I need someone who I know has dealt with anxiety too.. of that makes sense? I try music, TV etc but I can't focus enough on it. I have to do something physical. This is going to sound super strange.. but I got a yoyo (someone told me about it) and I use it for 5 minutes when I need to regroup. There is something about having to focus on the yoyo that takes my brain away from the anxiety. Once I've finished.. don't get me wrong, the anxiety is still there.. but my thoughts are more organised. Its like my brain is now able to look at one anxiety at a time rather than them all jumbled together. Does that make sense?

Hello, thanks for sharing! Yes, it actually makes a lot of sense and perhaps I'll try too. One good thing for me is always to regroup the anxiety in smaller concerns to be able to look at it. Hang in there and thanks for the tip!
