Grounding, Being in the Moment, and the Day
Hey Everyone, I hope you're all doing well today and that you've found some space to breathe and relax.
Today has been interesting. I started out with super low anxiety. It was nice to wake up and not freak out. But, my brain wasn't going to allow it to last. Things have slowly ramped up with more tension as the day has gone on. Nothing has happened. It's just what my brain has conjured in my head, and of course, it's all negative. It's so frustrating because I just want to have a nice day.
So, I pushed myself to focus on really being in the moment. I went to a store and walked around, consciously aware of every sound, smell, sight. Surprisingly, even though I was there just a short time, I did feel more calm. It was difficult to focus - always getting pulled back into negative brain. But it's a start.
What do you do to move away from the negativity?

Hello! I'm glad that you had a peaceful morning. Sometimes just getting to experience that peace can bring even more peace on, and it might last for a little bit, but it's a good reminder that you can definitely get back to a good place. I'm sorry that so many negative things were running through your head. It's definitely frustrating when you want to have a nice day and everything seems to be going wrong. I guess in those moments I just like to do something that I know I will succeed at and will bring me happiness. I'm glad you were able to find something that helps you! Being mindful and in the moment can really help a lot. Honestly, I'm really bad at it and am still trying to work towards mindfulness.
Stay strong.
