Welcome to 7 cups!! So glad you're here :)

I'm sorry to hear you've been struggling with anxiety a lot :( But I'm glad you're reaching out! Everyone is different, so what works for you might be different from what works for me, but some of the coping techniques I have used are doing simple breathing exercises to help me relax, going for a run, taking a relaxing hot bath, listening to music, and sitting outside in the sunshine.

I hope you are able to feel better very soon; thanks for reaching out to the 7 cups community!!

Hello! So glad you're here. You're doing the right thing - reaching out. I'm sorry your parents aren't able to help. They may feel scared and not know what to do. Other parents go the "tough it out" route. And sometimes it's hard for a parent to understand something their child is going through if they have never experienced it.

I've been reading here on 7 Cups lately how more people who don't have anxiety are now beginning to understand it more because of the covid issue. When you've never had anxiety, you can't possibly understand what a person who does is going through. You might feel bad, but you can't know what it is to feel anxious in that bad way.

I want you to know something. You are not the only one in your school feeling nervous, thinking that everyone is watching, staring, judging. I will guarantee you that at least HALF of everyone in your school feels the same way. Some people are just better at hiding it than others. And as for standing up in front of class for a presentation - those can be tough. Everyone feels nervous doing it.

When you're in those situations, you can do a minute of deep breathing beforehand. Just a slow, deep breath in, hold it for four seconds, and then slowly breathe out. It's extremely helpful. You can also do something called EFT - Emotional Freedom Techniques. It's tapping on points on your body to relieve stress. Of course, it's great to do when you're alone because people will definitely stare if you do it in class. But I read a blog a long time ago.... and just went digging around the internet to find it again. It's "Stealth" tapping: https://fromstressedtocalm.com/stealth-technique/ It's definitely something you could do in public and no one would know.

Hi LovingNorth, i'm new to the group. I know what your going through. My name is Ann, i'm 30 years old, and i've been dealing with anxiety since i was 15 years old. My parents did the same thing to me when i told them that i had anxiety. I know its frustating when people dont understand what your going through inside. So, since then i've been looking for so long now on ways how to cope with it and i think i finally found it. I went here https://www.digistore24.com/redir/306837/Felixthecattt/ , and suscribe. And since i suscribe, it has really help me to start coping with the problems in my life. Because it gives very good details on how to cope with things in your mind. How to deal with situations when your anxiety is either trying to or is flaring up. This person gives you the run down on how to control your mind and battle your anxiety. I am so grateful that i found this person. I don't know what i would have done if i didn't. So i hope just like this person helped me, that they can help you. I still deal with it from time to time, so i needed to still find a way to express my self, so i hope everyone here in this group would have me.
