I Won't Let Myself be Happy
I have realized that I won't let myself relax or be happy in the moment. Yesterday my son said he had something he wanted to talk about. So my anxiety goes sky high. He tells me, and it's actually something positive. So I felt good. But then, I start to twist things in my head. "What if that isn't the whole story?" "What if there's more, and it's actually like Y rather than Z?"
I couldn't just stay in the moment of happiness. My brain jumped immediately into that damn "what if" mode and of course, it's always negative or scary.
If anyone has any tips on how they stay more in the present, I could surely use them.

I completely relate with what you mentioned . I have been dealing with somewhat similar thing . I think its imp to remind our mind to stay in the present moment , everytime it starts making such scenarios inside head. Easier said than done though . I think may be meditation can help also .
