I have really bad social anxiety and overthink all the time
sometimes I feel really lonely cause of my anxiety. I have awful social anxiety and often times feel like whatever is going to come out of my mouth is stupid, so I just don’t say anything. Then afterwards I call myself stupid for not saying anything. However, if I do build up the courage to say anything I just overthink a lot afterwards and think abt what I could have said differenttly or oh I was so stupid for saying that. It’s like a lose lose situation. And I’m really shy too so that doesn’t help. And it’s not like k don’t like being around ppl because I’d rather hang out with others than be alone but my anxiety really holds me back and it’s so annoying. Idk how to gain more confidence in myself. I really wish I was more outgoing and talkative so that I would be able to make friends easier. But then when I start to open up to ppl that I start to get close to then I always think I’m being annoying and that I’m talking too much, when in reality they probably don’t really think I’m annoying. It just so confusing, idk if that made any sense but does anyone have any advice?

There are many of us out there ..... what you wrote could have been me .......I wasted a lot of time and missed out i am sure on many possible friends.
It is hard sometimes to start to force yourself to speak up ..... and overthinking about what you said how you said it etc is a waste ........... as a shy quiet person look around and Listen and you will see it.......
In a group 1 person says something........... others just mimic like a parrot .........AFRAID to share their own thoughts............ and wait for it ...................someone will eventually say in perhaps different words the same thing already said .......
It is my opinion but i find so MANY do not even hear what others are saying because they are so busy overthinking and trying to sound brilliant in whatever they come up with........ they do NOT EVEN LISTEN to what they came up with was something already said aloud.........
Once you see this and you see so what if you jumble a thought of words when talking unless there are the shy type watching ............most others do not listen too busy forming a response Before you even finish. Hope that helps because it freed me of overthinking about what to say or what did i say .....
even in text form often misspelled items that our brain from context figure out by what is being said
