Invaders!!!

I woke up this morning focused. The past week has been...rough. And I made it through. Today was going to be a good day. A positive day. A busy day, but still positive.

I slept in. I got some errands done. I sipped some coffee. I was happy-ish. Being mindful. Smiling.

And then my beautiful bubble was invaded. Not once, but twice. It's like I'm a problem magnet. I mean, I'm trying SO hard to take care of myself. But I can't because I'm being invaded by all of these other problems. And as I sit here typing this, I just got invasion #3.

I understand these are all important issues that need to be dealt with, but...seriously, how can I expect to get a hold of my anxiety when I can't get 24 hours to just freakin RELAX?

I'm seriously needed to take a vacation away by myself. With no cell phone reception!

Sorry that that happened. That's the worst when I'm expecting to have time to relax or open up to myself and I feel vulnerable/safe and then something just intrudes that bubble and takes me out of that. It's pretty jarring to go from being relaxed to startled/stressed in a few seconds.

Sometimes I'll hold off on relaxing if I expect something's going to interrupt, just so I'm not quite as startled/upset when it does happen.

It sounds like you're having trouble getting a break from stress and that's causing you anxiety. There are a lot of things in this world to get stressed about but you don't necessarily have to have anxiety over them. I have found it helpful to talk to anxiety like a friend instead of an enemy. I'll say things like "Hey Anxiety, I know you're trying to help but this really isn't helping me out in this situation. I'll figure it out so you can just relax." It doesn't always work but I have found it helpful. I hope you will too.
