It's just Me...
I have always had anxiety. Even as a kid. Short version: I lost my dad when I was 3, went through an ugly custody battle with my grandma and mom, abused as a teenager, drugs as a young adult, then mental abuse in a relationship. Oh, then lost my mom last year (after finally mending the relationship) and finally a car wreck that should have killed me in August of last year. I have been in a few therapy sessions in my life. After my wreck, my world just came crashing down on me. About 2 years ago, I was actually diagnosed with major depressive disorder and anxiety disorder. The wreck made those worse, with a new diagnosis, PTSD. Yes it was really that bad! I broke: my femur into pieces, (a rod and seven screws in my leg), 10 ribs, sternum, and 2 vertebrae in my back. I am still in pain for alot of days. I need friends who understand what I'm going through. That will listen and not be judgmental. Right now it's 1:30 in the morning, which is a really hard time for me. The house is quiet, dark, and no one to talk to. This is when I get lost in my thoughts. About my mom, the wreck, really just everything.

Have you tried the one-on-one chats here? You can talk to someone in real time, as the thoughts are pressing in on you
@Pretzelsandchocolate I did...but it seemed really weird to me. Almost like it was scripted, especially when they said hang on and just left me hanging.

It might take a few tries to find the right listener for you. I know my first chat was pretty awful - very robotic feeling. It felt like she was talking with 10 other people and only giving short responses. But I tried again - I looked through the profiles until I found someone I thought might sync up with me better - I was completely right. She was fantastic, listened and provided some great feedback and insight.
@thoughtfulmomma how do I check profiles? That would ba great start.

Up at the top of the page is the Chat menu. Within that menu select "Browse Listeners."
You can search by keywords, sort them out what you are looking for. (use the More Filters) link next to the search button.
This is really helpful if you're looking for someone specific. I mean, if you have problems with your kids and you're talking to someone who doesn't have kids - that's no good. :)
Hopefully you'll be able to find the right person to connect with.
Hi..
I'm really having a hard time with my PTSD.. And I really don't know what to do or who to tell.. It got me to the point where I literally searched in google "free online therapy sessions" and now I'm here

Hey, I'm glad you found 7 Cups! Try to find a listener to have a 1-on-1 chat with. You can use the browse listeners function to find listeners that you believe will be most helpful with whatever you would like to talk to them with.
