Morning anxiety
Right now I am okay but I hate it when I wake up extremely anxious, my mind has not had the time to process waking up yet i feel the anxiety first thing and I hate that... It just makes me feel like i m being choked, suffocating I would rather be numb than wake up to that feeling.. I just talked about it and I started feeling anxious
@Toxicboy
I Get it. Feel like that lots.
Couple things that work most of the time. Although some days okay to be anxious. Grab some water & healthy snack. Gronala bar works.
Different one to try,
1) Immediatly play an upbeat joyful song. Example, fits & tantrums.
2) Before going to bed, plan 1 fun activity for when you wake up. No work! Your soley getting up to watch a 1/2hour episode of favorite show. Read a book, play a game. Anything fun.
3)Get up & drink some tea & read a book, if thats ur thing
4)Get up & exercise you favorite type. Biking, running. Even meditation or yoga counts.
Also do you know why you wake anxious? Is it something changable?
@pointseven thank you so much for the reply
I will try to do that
It depends it s usually when I m facing problems and sometimes it s for no reason
@Toxicboy It can be quite troublesome cant it? No one answer to help each situation. I found my latest method is getting a small notepad half size of A4 and write a few senstances in it. Which sentances i heard from my therapist or even methods that help me.
So I can quickly read a sentance or two and helps ground me and focuses me. So maybe u could start a notepad, or such & start entering methods that help your anxiety.
Even if its random, there are usually thoughts or emotions behind it that trigger it. Even if just apathy.
Have u heard of the 5 things grounding method?
Name 3 things you see - & really focus on them one by one. Even descripe the details. Like gray tile with dark gray groute, etc
Name 3 things you hear - focus on it
Name 3 things you smell
Name 3 things you taste
Name 3 things you touch - like a plush blanket.
It helps distract from current emotion & helps you realise you safe in this moment & okay.
Just take a deep breathe count to 5 then exhale & count to 7
I have been following the well being feature on the site which has something kind of similar but I will definitely try to do this thank you so much for your help
