My anxiety

I think I have anxiety. Everynight before I go to sleep I think about moments and tell my self that that was anxiety, that's why I acted the way I did. I often will go to sleep in tears just thinking about moments some that were ages ago but I still think about them. I don't have anyone to talk to about it. I was camping with my friends afew weeks ago, just before christmas. We were making pasta for lunch on a gas stove, I often over worry when people are cooking on stoves. I freaked to much, was grating cheese in the tent trying to keep my self distracted because I know how had I can get when all I have to think about is the stove. At one point I couldn't see anyone watching the stove and I freaked I got up and took the cheese over to a bench a little bit away I could still see the stove. After that my anxiety took over I just continued to think about it for the rest of the day, I wasn't happy anymore, I had turned sad and my friends had noticed it. When I feel like that I often like to have a hug normally with my parents, but since they weren't with us I thought I could have one with my friend. So I gave one of them a hug. Later that night when we were all in bed somehow the conversation changed and I had said something about me hugging one of them. They wanted to know why I had been acting sad earlier, they asked my what's wrong But I couldn't answer, I ended up giving them clues to lead them to anxiety, all while I was scared they were going to guess it right any moment so I had my face in my pillow and I was crying. I was giving letters to spell it out, I was reluctant to give them the "x" because I thought that it would give it away, I was right once I had said it they thought about it for a while then when someone said it I just froze, i didn't say yes or no, eventually I nodded. We talked about it for a while, it felt great talking to someone about what I could only talk to me self about, but we soon realised the time and decided that we should go to sleep, they said we would talk about it again in the morning. In the morning we didn't talk about it, and we didn't talk about it again for the rest of the camping trip. Now after a few weeks it is still the holidays so I haven't seen any of them for a long enough time to talk about it, mainly because I was scared to bring the topic up. I feel like I have gone back to having no one to talk to but this time people know, so I think about it they think about it. My family don't know that I think I have anxiety. How do I bring the topic up when I am with my friends? How can I let my family know that I think I have anxiety?

@Zebra9999

I know how hard anxiety can be. I have general and social anxiety, along with panic disorder. It can be really hard to talk to friends about your anxiety. In school, I'm the quiet person. I'm usually regarded as no one, due to how little I talk. It's always been hard to make friends for me due to being scared of rejection and what this person might say once they find out about my anxiety and that I'm not straight.

Personally, I took things slow and steady. I smiled at one person one day, not really much more than that due to being nervous. New situations are the worst things for me. After getting to know some friends, and trusting them, I kind of just hinted that I have anxiety, so I'm nervous literally all the time. Let your friends know what helps when you start to feel nervous and not good. Outside of your house, they will be your biggest support system. They love you for who you are and I'm sure they won't mind helping you.

Anxiety can be hard to deal with. Having those friends there will really help you, trust me. I couldn't handle my anxiety on my own. Surrounding yourself with people that care about you and love you and understand is one of the most important things someone with anxiety could have.

As for your parents, casually let them know that you've been really nervous at school and aren't sure why. Suggest seeing a therapist, who can help with your anxiety trememdously, and also let them know what helps when you start to feel anxious. Your mental health is more important than hiding it. Act on impulse and just say it. Your parents more than anyone will understand, I promise.
