My story (Kinda long sorry)
I jave always been awkward and weird. When I was a kid it didn't matter because I had friends and tgey always indulged me in my weirdness. But as we grew older they sort of made me feel like a DUFF. They were better liked by people and they got other friends and I became that awkward girl that's always following them and people would only talk to me only when they wanted to talk to them. Whenever we would disagree on something and I would then later apologise they would make fun on me and read all our texts out loud and people would laugh at me. Luckily for me I vhanged schools but there I became really untrusting of people and I would fear punlic humiliation to the point where I stopped trying to make friends and now I am an adult with no one to talk to and that makea me feel even more lonely. My sister once joked around said that maybe I have Social Phobia and i looked it up and it is a real thing and the symptoms are exactly what I experience and now I'm just lost.
@enthusiasticStrawberries3586 I would also distrust people if I were in your shoes as the public humiliation and teasing can really affect how we interact with others. And honestly, there are a lot of crappy people out there and you didn't deserve to be treated that way. My social phobia stems from wanting to please others but I read something today that resonated with me and may resonate with you, " When I realized my anxiety is tied to living a life based on other people's expectations of me. Anxiety will tell you when you're not being true to yourself." While social phobia is not pleasant and can feel very frustrating, I think it also can show us that what is limiting us in life. It's okay to feel lost and I do not think that answers are that easy but I think we both have hope to still enjoy life and meet good people in the future
