Quite anxious
I’m currently on a holiday and my anxiety has gotten too much to handle. I’ve had multiple anxiety attacks in the span of two days and am practically constantly worrying.
However, tomorrow we will be going to get anxiety medication at the island where we are staying. If they don’t sell it in pharmacies, then we’ll visit a doctor to get a prescription.
What I’m afraid of is the medication not helping. I’ve been trying to calm myself down and it worked at first but it’s not really working any more.
Im scared that it won’t work and I’ll have anxiety for the whole trip. I don’t know how much more I can handle.
@Silentlywishing From a doctor there is certainly prescription medication that is very effective for anxiety, and it works very quickly. Directly from a pharmacy, I'm not sure. It probably depends on the local regulations where you are on holiday. Anyway, a pharmacist will be able to advise you on that.
You might find that the pharmacist or doctor suggests a temporary solution, and recommends getting different longer term treatment when you get home after your holiday. If you crossed a border, maybe check whether you can bring the holiday medication back with you.

Thank you for your answer :]
im going to go to a therapist when I come back, and I just need some meds to help me calm down for the trip home, or to help me calm down when I’m at home and constantly worrying.
I do hope that if I do manage to get anxiety meds, it’ll be able to help calm me down when I’m having an anxiety attack, as I’m very worried about those, and not much helps to calm me down when I’m stressed.
