So , I have been taking anti - depressants for almost 3 years now . I have made some progress but perhaps I feel it is not substantial enough . I have observed that while meds have given me temporary relief but they have not solved the problems from its root cause . Hence can therapy be of any help ??

Thanks .

Hi Calmsoul :)

I have found that medication often softens the sharp edges so life is a little more manageable while we work on those root causes. If you are able to see a therapist, I say go for it. The more support we have, the greater the chance we have of improvement.

@calmsoulmeet I agree with you and @ChirpCheep — root causes are the key. Not all therapists work that way, so I would suggest you might have to be careful about your choice of therapist, and agree with the therapist in advance that therapy will discover and then address the root causes.

@RarelyCharlie Thanks . Honestly speaking therapy is kind of a bit expensive . But I guess I have no other option .
