Struggling with Lockdown Independence
I've had three consecutive nights of severe anixety attacks... I'm so tired and frustrated.
I'm wondering if anyone else is struggling with maintaining indepence throughout lockdown?
I'm an adult, with family members 24/7, annoyed with the fact I feel I'm losing perspective on what I can rightly keep to myself... as if things I don't want being shared will find their way out anyway - even though that's completely ridiculous. As more time passes, my sense of rational self continues to fade in favour of never-ending anxiety... I just want my mind to stop coming up with wildly-imagined situations when we have enough to deal with as it is.

For those of us who have been at home with our families consistently these past four months, it's a struggle to hold onto some of the independence we once had. It doesn't seem like we've lost anything, but we have. We've lost those little quiet moments, that bit of alone time where we could relax, focus on ourselves, have a phone conversation with a friend without having to watch what we say.
At the beginning of the year kids were going to school, parents were working, and some of us were already at home, but by ourselves for a large portion of the day. Now, with everyone working from home, schooling from home, we lost our alone time.
For me, I try to grab what small moments I can to be alone. Because, it helps. Fortunately there has been some easing of lockdowns, so we're all able to get out a bit more. Still, I will assign myself some alone time. Taking a drive. Taking a shower. Whatever it is like that, I grab it, and I make sure I enjoy it and mentally close myself off to everything else for that brief time.
Not sure if that's what you're talking about with "independence" but I know I feel the need for some regular (the way it was) alone time with my old schedule.
