Therapists

So I have been seeing my first therapist for about a few months now. My mum got an email the other day saying that my therapist is leaving the place she works and I can either keep seeing her (I'm not sure exactly how, maybe if she works at another company?), or I can see a new therapist at the same place, or i can just not see anyone anymore.

I don't know what to do and I don't know how long I have to make a decision. I have really bad social anxiety and I find it hard to talk to my therapist. I don't know if she is helping me heaps or if she is a really good therapist because I have never seen anyone else. If someone could give me some advice that would be great.

In real life I know some good therapists, and I know people who have had successful therapy.

From what I've heard, a good therapist is easy to talk to from the very first session, even if you have really bad social anxiety. Finding it hard to talk to your therapist suggests to me that it might be good to see a different therapist.

And from what I've heard, when therapy works you can be pretty sure after just a few sessions that it's working. If you've been seeing this therapist for a few months and you're still not sure, that suggests to me that it might be good to see a different therapist.

Social anxiety is one of the issues that therapy can be really effective for. I am hopeful that if you can find the right therapist you will find therapy amazingly helpful.
