Am I really that weird for being in my twenties not liking parties, not liking to go out, not being interested in people and preferring to stay and chill at home?

@Snowwhite95

Not at all, but one day you will find out that life went flying past you and missed you...

@agoodlaugh yes thats what Im afraid of. At the moment, all I want is just relax and be at home, read books, watch movies etc. But I dont want it the only thing I will do in my life

@Snowwhite95

It is your choice when you close the book and decide to live your own adventure...

I've read books till I read them all, watched movies till know them by heart, now I am doing the same thing you are doing but fir different reasons...

Maybe someday you will find the urge to go for a swim, have a snow fight and plenty of laughs or just play with a pet of your choice...

Books...they are are other people's phantasies to replace our lack of imagination...the more you spend on them the less you create yourself...

It's not weird at all. I know TONS of people of all ages that don't like the party life. They prefer to have a few friends over and socialize that way or just hang out alone. No one is required to party, to drink, to go bar hopping, etc.

Honestly, being able to relax and hang out on your own is something that I think a lot of people find difficult to do. It's scary for them to be alone. It seems like everyone is always trying to keep busy and distracted, rather than just enjoying the moment in peace. You're being hygge! :)

@thoughtfulmomma you're absolutely right. I'm a social introvert. One day I just couldn't handle the pressure of others. Now I do things on my terms, even if others don't understand. My home was always the gathering point. Always food and a seat for anyone. After my breakdown I couldn't handle it any longer. I'm looking for a nice quiet place, maybe one day I wish to be social, but now it's a wonderful break for me from the pressure.

@BradleyK I wish I could ever come to that point where I can just accept myself that way and not being pressured by others!

@Snowwhite95 Last night we were invited over to some friends boat just up from ours. After an hour i was drained and ready to come back to our boat. They know about my breakdown and were understanding. The party started to break up and I told them no not just because of me. They all sat back down and continued. I said good night and came home to my bed and my cat. It was good to go, stay just what I could handle and leave.

Yes! Once you walk away from that "obligation" of being everything to everyone and having to do everything, it just feels so good. Just to reclaim a bit of your own life and well-being is an amazing thing to accomplish.

@Grme18

It's absolutely normal to miss someone who meant a lot to you and is no longer there. It means your feelings were real so don't fight it. Accept that they were not going to bed there forever either way and try to find something to do, little activities that won't take too much of your energy but will help cope with the loss. I hope this helps.

@Snowwhite95

you're not weird at all! you're just an introvert, that's all. it's completely normal and you're not alone. who says you're weird? btw, if anyone's pressuring you to get out or go to a party or do anything at all you don't want to do, then they're not a good person to be around. don't feel like you have to get out and be social to be normal or appease others. I'm an ambivert, so I see both sides. sometimes, I really enjoy parties and talking to people, and other times, there's nothing I'd rather do than stay locked up in my room watching YouTube by myself. I understand why others enjoy being social, but I also understand that it can be mentally exhausting to even say hi to someone. do what makes you feel comfortable. it's always the best choice for your emotional and mental health. 💙

@Jisola yes indeed. When Im forced to go out, I wont enjoy it anyway. At parties, Im just looking around and figuring out what to do. I have no clue how all those people are having fun.

Its just really confusing if your parents dont agree with the way you live your life and are constantly forcing you to go out. Theyre scared that Ill end up being alone for the rest of my life. They just dont see that I dont really mind being alone (for now)
