anxious about the future

I’m currently a junior in high school, almost done with my first semester but I’ve been so anxious about the future recently. I just got an email from my school today that we’re gonna take the SATS this spring at school and ever since i heard that i’ve just been panicking inside because I don’t think i’m ready to take the test because I haven’t studied in so long, and I’m not good at any of the subjects on it. Plus I’m a really nervous test taker too. It’s not just the SATS, but I feel like it’s unfair how for applying for colleges or scholarships most of them always assess you on one thing like for example having to write an essay, which i’ve always been bad at ever since I was a kid. Also i’m really worried for college and job interviews because I have really bad anxiety and I feel like I’ll blank out and not know what to say and ruin my opportunities. I honestly have no clue what I wanna do in my life and I know i’m not supposed to have everything figured out, but i’m always constantly worrying about the future. Also realizing how colleges are so expensive is making me rethink of whether I really wanna go to college, but I know it’s probably better to and my parents will kill me if I don’t. For my whole life, I’ve always been looked down on my achievements especially towards my parents who have always compared me to my friends and other kids which they still continue to do so. I just feel like no matter what I do, I’ll never be able to please them either. Sometimes I feel like I don’t have any purpose in life and I feel like I’ll never find anything that i’m good at or passionate about. I always just feel so lost in life and I’m just wasting my time away.

Hello! Sorry you're feeling bad, sounds like you're dealing with a lot of things and worries about the future. Do you have someone to talk to about your thoughts? It might help in finding avenues that can maybe help you deal better with challenges. It sounds like you have a lot on your plate, but I want to say, the shroud of anxiety can often make us look at things in a dark light. You sound like an intelligent person, I am sure you will be able to do a lot of good and settle in somewhere. A lot of support to you and hope you'll find find a way to feel better in the situation you're dealing with.
