exhausted and overwhelmed!
I just feel so overwhelmed by life. I can’t really explain it. I always think to myself I have so much to do and no time to accomplish it, but the truth is I do have a lot to do, but I also have some time. I just have no motivation, no desire, and no energy to get anything done. Whenever, I sit down to accomplish a task I get distracted or I fall asleep. The other day I slept 22 hours and when I woke up I fell back asleep. I’ve never felt to mentally and physically exhausted in my and I just don’t know what to do. I’ve also been getting C‘s and i’m typically a straight A student in all AP courses in high school and it’s destroying me, but I just can’t focus enough to grasp the concept of anything being taught.
I’ve actually come on here because I’m experiencing the same thing at the moment. It seems that just trying to gather the motivation to complete a task is too much and i end up falling asleep as well. Just know that you are not alone. I wish you the best going forward.
I'm really sorry to hear you're going through all of this, it's definitely not fun to see aspects of your life being affected by something that feels outside of your control.
Have you gone to the doctor to get a checkup? I'm not an expert at all, but this sounds a lot like what I was dealing with at the height of my depression when I was a teenager. I got diagnosed with clinical depression and got some help through therapy and medication.
But let me just say something; this doesn't make you a failure or anything of that sort - you're fighting something actively and that's exhausting in of itself. I'm happy you're coming around to talk about it though, that's a sign of strength. You got this!
Best of luck and I hope your exhaustion resolves!
@kobe9 hey I am so sorry that you are going through this situation. I know how hard it is to go from being the perfect student to losing all motivation. It can be confusing and frustrating. And when you cannot come up with a solution despite trying so many times the burden can be so over whelming and you lose all motivation/hope and its a vicious cycle that continues , falling and trying to stand back up only to fall again making it more and more difficult to try again.
From what you have described it seems as if you are experiencing a burnout and perhaps you are pushing yourself too hard. This might be due to depression but I tend to believe depression is more of a symptom that something else is wrong ,maybe you need to give yourself some space after all we are all humans , please avoid taking stress as it reduces the capacity to think rationally and productively. Try experimenting with different study techniques and do your work in small manageable blocks, Know that you are your own priority and every other achievement comes after that.
I hope you find a way to achieve your goals , wishing you the best for your future
