I can't say i relate to losing confidence specifically but i do know how strange it can feel having a personality shift because of medication. I don't know what you're on specifically and if it is the right meds for you but even if you can't change your meds, if there's any side effects that are giving you a hard time then of course you can talk to your doctor about that. They want to help you, and you're doing such a good job even trying to be on the meds so let them help you With You and tell them it's been so difficult.
In regards to relapsing, i know how disheartening it can be but it's not about the slipping up it's about the keeping going. You didn't get this far for nothing, all of that hard work is still right there.
I can relate. I've definitely had to readjust to my "new" personality while medicated. In a way, I feel better than I ever have, but I do miss having a full range of emotions.
@indigoNest5772 it can totally be possible, medications are complex and it takes a while for them to have an effect and for us to work with the effect they have. i hope you won't be discouraged by that and i hope that you will find what works best for you with your doctor. i wish you all the best ^^
@indigoNest5772 I relate to this so much. When I got put on a certain medication, I felt like I completely lost who I was. Although it was helping my anxiety and my mood, it was also just making me numb and kind of disappear as a person. I was really happy that I was able to get my anxiety under control, but I also couldn't shake the fact that the personality I loved about myself was now gone. Although I still kind of feel this way sometimes, I think something that's helped a lot is trying to do things that made that personality really stand out. So for example, before medication, I had a really energetic and bubbly personality. I was always on the go and constantly making jokes and making others laugh. Even though I kind of have to force this out of myself sometimes, being around people that I'm comfortable with makes it a lot easier to open up this side of me again.

Yes, I can really relate to what you're saying. It takes a lot of courage to share something like that because I think more people feel it! Being on mental health medication can be such a complicated experience—on one hand, it might help stabilize certain symptoms, but on the other, it intensifies others. That feeling of losing confidence or even a sense of who you are is incredibly real and painful.
Thank you for saying this out loud. You're not weak for struggling with it. It makes sense to grieve the parts of yourself that feel dimmed. Maybe even a provider who will listen and work with you to find a balance that feels more like you again. There are so many different medications out there that won't dim your light but make it brighter:) You're on a great path.
I can totally relate to losing part of your personality because of mental health medications. I often feel a little "flat" and feel like I've lost a lot of my creativity. Don't give up. Often, the benefits outweigh the changes and there are usually other medications to try that may not impact you the same way. Feel free to reach out if you'd like some support.
@indigoNest5772 Hey nest. I totally get why you'd feel that way but honestly it's okay to change people evolve and that's fine it doesn't make you any less you. You're still you. Also it's okay to feel off sometimes(not confident) but it doesn't make you any less you. I absolutely believe you'll regain it. If you ever want to talk we're here to listen

Thank you so much for sharing this. What you’re describing is something many people experience, and it’s completely valid to feel that way. Starting mental health medication can come with a lot of emotional changes, and it’s not uncommon for people to feel a shift in their sense of self or confidence.
You deserve to feel like yourself while also getting the support you need. You're not alone in navigating this, and you're not wrong for feeling the way you do. 💛
