is it healthy to think this way?
Is it healthy to crave attention and compliments to the point where I feel so anxious about myself if I don
@Hydrangea03
It takes some strength to write that.
That unbearable will to be praised, like it's something you've been craving for for way too long... Sprinkled with the guilt of having such wish. Feeling that without compliments you'd break... but as the same times, doubting if you even deserve them.
These are feelings I know way too much. I envy you for being able to put them into words. It's kinda amazing.
Usually, wanting that comes from the fact that one didn't get enough ever. As for me, I was raised with the stick and not the carrot. Failing would be reprimanded. Succeeding was considered normal. I don't know if your life was similar, or if something else ended up causing a similar result. The fear of not being good enough, almost being convinced that others are better than us on everything, inducing a starve for compliments that we neither think we deserve nor will entirely believe when told.
It's perfectly fine wanting to be praised and it doesn't mean you're self-centered. In fact, it's highly possible that, in your case, it means you've been living so far being way less complimented than what you deserved.
In any case, don't worry about it, it's normal. As for you skills, I can't really tell - but judging from these 9 lines you wrote, I'd say...
You definitly have the power to convey emotions through words.
Treasure it. It's kinda rare.
@Hydrangea03. Wow that took strength and courage to write, that is wonderful that you can share your feelings. You are not a bad person, sometimes I crave attention and affection, because I didn't get much growing up , thank you for sharing that ! I too think my neediness is negative, but I have come to realize it how we grew up and it can be hard to accept, but it's ok!
