Its hard even just to post in forums/threads.
Just now I struggled to post this thread,
I'm struggling to post in online communities. and socialize beyond my home. No idea what to do to make this feeling go away, this is my second time writing for this thread I've posted.
It's taken me maybe an hour to gather the courage to post at the fear of judgement. among other things, even though I know this is a very accepting community. I find it hard even to post on a site with less than 5 people online a day.
And life beyond the computer. I find it even harder because I don't leave home as much as I use to anymore, ever since I left my ex.I'm not sure how to properly explain how I feel, I can't even look people in the eyes. even if they are nice and kind, speaking so quietly that I often go unheard.
Having tried to talk to close family or friends, but i feel their problems are much bigger than my own and I don't want to be insensitive to them, so I often talk to my boyfriend But. being in a long distance relationship makes it a bit harder to understand how I feel. He cares but, often when I talk to him I'm met with one-word answers, mules , and it's not relly helping because he doesn't express himself like I do.
Can anyone give me advice that might help?
Thanks for reading.
@SwallowtailButterfly Your feelings are always valid, no matter what anyone else is dealing with. If your finding that this is affecting your daily life, I would reccomend you talk to a professional. I've been where you are, and I can assure you it can get easier. If you ever need any one to reach out to, this is a wonderful community of people who are very willing to help!
@SwallowtailButterfly
I am the same. Took me half an hour just to rely to this !. You are not alone, there are people here who completely understand where you are coming from. I too was in a long distance relationship and then we eventually married !. There are some great listeners here as well as members who won't judge you. I'm just a member but would be more than happy to chat with you if you ever needed an ear. Stick with it ! You made a huge step by posting this and wish I had your courage when I first came here. I'm still nervous about posting myself but the more you do it, the more your confidence will build and hopefully the better you will feel by sharing, well it helped me anyway.
@Mtude
It would be great to talk with you. and thank you , I would happily listen to you too if you want to talk to me, I have a habit of wanting to listen to talk to others even when I don't feel happy, or positive. I will keep trying to talk to others. ad I'm glad it's working for you, hopefully it will for me to <3 not all communities are as nice and welcoming as this one. but hopefully one day ill be able to look past that.
doses this site have a privet chat for member, to member? I'm aware of the listener to member and the group chat. but haven't seen, or looked for a way for two members to chat yet.
@Melody293
Thank you. I agree this is definitely a very great community, and for the time that I've been on here it has been a helpful experience, I am currently searching and saving up for some professional help, but the only therapist within reach are 100 miles away, so I am going to keep looking, and hopefully I find one closer within walking distance or by bus.
@SwallowtailButterfly
Im not sure if there is a way on this site other than maybe sending a message via the Feed or adding to this post or going into the group chat rooms. If you find a way then let me know as would be happy to converse otherwise one of us will have to become a listener ! LOL [edited by Roadie to remove inference for offsite contact]
@SwallowtailButterfly Aww well I am definitely glad you took the courage to post, because we are all happy to hear from you and value your experience!! <3
It is hard to post. It's extremely hard. But you did it. I hope you're doing well.
It's so hard to work up the nerve to talk. I'd like to talk to a listener or therapist but I'm too anxious to do that. At least we can post on the forums though, we're still trying to do something.
