derealization and depersonalization
Hello everyone, I have been suffering from derealization and depersonalization for years but only thanks to therapy with my psychologist I was able to give it a name. Unfortunately, however, I can't figure out how to go back to being "normal".
Do you have any books to recommend that have helped you along this path?
In recent years this condition has been getting worse and I'm really tired of living like this. I think it's related to social anxiety, because it happens to me as soon as I'm with someone or step outside my front door. I'm locking myself up at home and I don't want it to become my prison, I want to do something before it's too late.
I struggled with this for a while, i take lexapro which helps it alot, but outside of medication, try doing things that are familiar to you. Eat a meal you used to eat lot growing up or hang out more in places you've been a lot over your life. You're partially correct in staying in your home, your brain needs stuff that you're used to to help you remember "hey, this is MY life and nothings changed, this is all still real" Try to ease into new experiences while you're healing and just do things that remind you of life before this happened to you and i PROMISE it gets so much better. You've got this!
