Too liquid to be a solid, too solid to be a liquid

Too much ASD to be neurotypical, not enough to be a real member of the community.

I love being me. How fun

Don't ever let others people tell you, you are not enough!

You matter.

Just because others feel you don't fit into a certain category, labels don't define or fit us all 💜💕

I know how you feel. I worry sometimes that I'm an imposter, as I am just self-diagnosed, or sometimes I meet people and they are definitely much more autistic than myself and I think I must just be making it up!

But then I go to an anime convention or I meet up for boardgames, or even a local neurodivergent group and I realise I can finally relax because these are my people.

I think I'm the same as you the worry about not quite fitting in will always be there, but I also *know* I feel much more comfortable around autistic people than most other types of people, so I am at least with my tribe, and I try not to think too much about the labels.

Are you the same, self-diagnosed?

@amiableAcres6326It sounds like you’re expressing a feeling of being in between—neither fitting fully into neurotypical norms nor fully into the autistic community, which can feel isolating or confusing. That "in-between" space can be challenging, but it also means you have a unique perspective and identity. Loving yourself as you are is a powerful and important step. Embracing your individuality, even when it feels complex, is a form of strength. If you want to talk more about this feeling or explore ways to connect with others who understand, I'm here to help.

I relate. No long winded answers to give you but god is it tiring- not leaning into the autism because that would isolate from the rest of society, making an effort

constantly feeling so different, even when youre to non-autistic ppl,  cause they justdont get it and you just dont fully get them

tiring. Wish id have found more inbetweeners by now.

Perfect analogy.

You're the best kind of fluid.

The kind that you can sink in and also stand on!!!!

Wait... wait.. I don't think that's helpful.

@amiableAcres6326 ASD is a spectrum hence the name. There is no such thing as too autistic or not autistic enough! There is no label you need to be put under, just be yourself. I’m sorry you feel this way but there is no one type of ASD and nobody with it i the same. YOU are your own category and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.🙏🏽❤️

This happens to me as well, i feel you its annoying. I got diagnose just recently and my dad keeps telling me that its as if i ddnt have autism, that everyone has a bit of autism (bruh). He thinks its a compliment, but its not because its invalidating the struglles that are invisible. Youre valid friend
