Mom got mad at me for having pudding for a snack on Friday night (snack night)
Background:
Between the ages of 6-12 I would have a snack and pop every night as well as between 10-12 I would have either a toy cup of peanuts or a bowl of popcorn. Around the time I was 12 or 13 i cut down my snacks to one night a week and no afternoon snacks.
We used to be able to get Mom's pudding mixes for cakes (vanilla, Chocolate, and Butterscotch) from our local grocery store but now the only Jell-O Pudding mixes our grocery store carries is Jello's Fat-free pudding and Mom and I need the other version. So she has to get it like at least at No Frills grocery store. And also I went without pudding between something like Nov to like 2 weeks ago (3 months without pudding). So I deserve to get some pudding to eat? We don't want the pudding cups, we want the pudding mixes. Because pudding cups don't give me the amount of pudding I want in a bowl, you need to have twice as much and I can't add something to a pudding cup.
A problem with me only having snack once a week, outside of holidays, is I have a big back up of chocolate from as far back at least 2 years ago if not more. Mom had said in the past I could use pudding or ice cream and use up my chocolate that way.
I don't want to have ice cream every single week that would get boring fast and just having chocolate on their own is just boring after like 2-3 years (maybe more?) of having chocolate on pudding or ice cream especially dark chocolate which is what Dad gets us, is just terrible which is why i use it on my pudding and ice cream.
The only other snack I have beside just having a bowl of chocolate is S'mores (Hersey's S'more kits) but they come with chocolates already. So I can't use my stack of chocolate for s'mores now can I when it comes with chocolates already unless we're really low on the chocolate bar in the box.
Oh and last thing- we only have 2 flavours of ice cream. Mint Ice cream which I haven't had since sometime last year because Dad was such a Ross (a fool), and put my then chocolate ice cream and Mint ice cream into the inaccessible freezer in the basement after removing it from the "accessible" freezer in the kitchen. The only other flavour is Vanilla, and I'm basically sick of vanilla really because outside of Baskin Robins' ice cream, and when i was 23, cruise ship ice cream the only ice cream flavour at home we had for basically at least something like 13 or 14 years of my life was vanilla. Sure Vanilla goes well with everything but any wonder I'm sick of it? I had ice cream last week.
Story:
So Mom came out to the kitchen to help me with the pudding and she got all mad and starting having a hissy fit about me "having pudding again" when I hadn't have pudding for like 2 weeks. Which led to an argument something about "Some of the puddings are hard to find because we can't get them at the grocery store"* and she also said something about "we had lots of ice cream" and I said back to her "I had ice cream last week!" Then I said "what am I suppose to have every other week when I had ice cream the previous week?" And I said "you're the one who is having a hissy fit." And then she put her hands on me and forced me out of the way and I still had to get my drink ready so i could take it upstairs. I still thanked her even though I felt she didn't deserve one after having such a hissy fit about me using pudding again.
But she never did answer my **** question about what else could I have which isn't Pudding and isn't ice cream on weeks when I had ice cream the previous week and I did something to put my big supply of chocolate on to use them up because I know more chocolate is coming for Easter's and/or my birthday.

* To me it sounds she needs to start asking Dad to buy the 24 boxes of Jell-O Pudding mixes in different flavours from Amazon.

It sounds like you have had such a frustrating and stressful time trying to navigate your snack routine! I can really hear how much you value having a consistent plan, especially with your "one night a week" rule. It makes total sense that you’d feel upset when you’ve been so patient: waiting three whole months for pudding! only to have it turn into an argument.
It is really tough when the people we love don't seem to understand our logic or our needs. It sounds like you were just trying to be practical about using up your chocolate stash before more arrives for Easter and your birthday, which is actually very responsible of you! <3 Being forced out of the way is never a kind way to be treated, and it’s honestly so impressive that you still managed to say thank you afterward. That shows a lot of grace on your part.
It’s completely understandable that you’re sick of plain vanilla after 14 years! It sounds like you are looking for some variety and a fair way to enjoy your weekly treat without the "hissy fits" or the stress of inaccessible freezers.
I'm sorry you didn't get an answer to your question about what else you can use your chocolate on. It’s hard when you’re looking for a solution and just get met with anger instead. I’m sending you some calm vibes while you figure out the best way to handle your chocolate "back up"!
you rock
keep rocking

@DustOfSnow Thanks. But Mom did have a right to be angry. It's because I didn't ask beforehand if I could use pudding.
The problem stems from the fact Mom bakes a lot of stuff including cakes and Mom using pudding mixes for cakes. And sometimes people call out of the blue to ask Mom for a cake so she needs to rush and get the cake done.
@Disneywoman
I understand.
