Numb due to meds
I take aripiprazole for racing thoughts and irritability associated with autism. I mean I don't have racing thoughts or emotional dysregulation rn but I am so damn numb. Maybe it's my fault tho for stopping abruptly during flu and cough 😷.
when I was taking it regularly, I wasn't as numb but still, I was quite numb.
When I had to take a lot of flu and cough medications, I often forgot my psychiatric meds and then I became really numb.
Rn I'm not interested in almost anything, having an existential crisis, and not feeling connected with almost everyone. Just very numb 😔 All I feel nowadays is a hint of happy or a hint of sad.
I shouldn't have stopped Aripiprazole abruptly simply because I had flu and cough 😔

Maybe you can reach out to the doctor. It’s not good to stop abruptly as you know. Plus, feeling sick can bring on heightened emotions too. You’re going through it right now. Things will get better ❤️🩹
@TheSweetNightIt’s understandable to feel numb and disconnected after stopping Aripiprazole suddenly, especially if you were taking it regularly before. Abruptly stopping psychiatric medications can sometimes cause withdrawal effects or a return of symptoms. It’s important to talk to your prescribing doctor about how you’re feeling as soon as possible—they can guide you on the best steps to take safely, whether that’s restarting the medication or adjusting your treatment. Meanwhile, try to be gentle with yourself; feeling numb or disconnected during tough times is difficult but not your fault. If you want, I can help you draft how to explain this to your doctor or suggest ways to cope until you get professional advice.
