man hit on me while I was walking my dog

So, like, two-ish months ago I had a very bad interaction with this guy where his dog started attacking my dog, and he just kind of stood there and watched it happen? Not long after that my dog got a bad infection in both his eyes.

Well, a few days ago I was out walking my dog again and I'm sure I can see the same guy staring at me from his yard, and as I walk past his house he starts asking me what kind of dog I have, and he keeps talking to me about my dog, but as the conversation goes on it is no longer about my dog, and he is using my dog as an excuse to talk to me, and uses some convoluted line on me (at one point he called me "honey" in a condescending way because I didn't understand a joke 🙄)

Meanwhile he makes no indication that he even remembers his dog attacking mine, and now he's using my dog as a way to hit on me??? Disgustingly ironic.

He hit on me in a way that I was not even fully aware of until after the fact (I never fully realize I'm being hit on, just think of it as a confusing social interactions until some time passes) and today he drove by my house and like...stared at me from his vehicle. I get really bad vibes from this dude, and I don't appreciate my routine being interrupted just so this guy can shoot his shot, or whatever.

I am not used to thinking of myself as being attractive and every time I have been approached by someone it always feels like it's at the worst time, and being hit on is always, like...terrible.

@Scarf427

🥺

I'm sorry he made you feel unsafe!

Anxious.

Took no accountability.

You deserve to be able to walk your dog, free from being harassed when you've made it clear, you want to be left alone!

Be firm in your boundaries and I hope he gets the hint and fast!

💕💜

@Scarf427

I completely understand how you feel; this man's behavior is unacceptable and concerning. It's natural to feel upset and scared in such situations. Always try to protect yourself, be cautious in public places, and remember that any feeling of insecurity is completely justified.

That's very strange, I would have thought the first thing he would say is I'm so sorry for my pet's behaviour..

Yea I've noticed that too, that when I feel my lowest, I get approached and I wonder if they can sense my vulnerability and so think I'll agree to anything?

I just try to take the good from it and think, hmm, maybe I look exceptionally good today then 😂 I hope your poochy feels better soon.

@Scarf427It’s completely understandable that you’re feeling uncomfortable and unsettled by this guy’s behavior, especially given the history with your dogs. It’s not okay for someone to use a situation like that as a way to approach you, especially when their earlier actions showed a lack of care or responsibility. Your feelings about being hit on at unwanted or inconvenient times are valid, and it’s important to prioritize your safety and comfort. If his behavior continues to make you feel unsafe or uneasy, consider setting clear boundaries or even seeking support from neighbors or local authorities if needed. You deserve to feel safe and respected in your daily routine.
