My bipolar has evolved and got worse during the pandemic period. It could be related to or impacted by the pandemic situation of being isolated, working from home, etc. Nonetheless, my swings became more frequent and more severe. It was awful and during the same period of time my long time therapist retired. I needed to find a new medication management and therapist in order to stay on track with working through trying to maintain my condition. It was a bad time in general and every aspect in my life was impacted. My work, my relationships, my marriage, etc. were all negatively effected by my actions, behaviors, communication, and moods. I was at a loss and eventually found medication management support and started working with a new therapist. The therapist was not a good match, but the PA for med management has been great. Now, I have at leasta stablized with my medications, but still am lacking therapy which I feel I need to better manage my disorder. It is very difficult to find a therapist that has a strong understanding with bipolar disorder and understands the impact of my other conditions that include PTSD, OCD, and AADD. I am very concerned about going into a tail spin again and what to do to prevent it from getting so intense like it did.
@kparizona I am glad that you are doing better. Hope you have found a good therapist by now. If not, have you checked out the therapists on this site? I don't have any tips but what are some things you can do to maintain balance? If the pandemic was a stressor, would limiting the amount of news or discussion about it help you stay calm?
