Although I'm not bipolar and I only ever experienced the bottomless depressions I'm currently starting new treatment with Lithium and I came across this book which am sure is if interest. It's a very candid account of first hand experience :

An Unquiet Mind: A Memoir of Moods and Madness by Kay Redfield Jamison (1995)

@anonyLemon4233 I agree. It's an amazing book (and it's on my Listeners' Reading List). Here's one of its many reviews: Book Review: An Unquiet Mind

Yes! Ms. Jamison is one of my favorite authors. She has a great combination of clinical training and lived experience that makes her writing genuinely heartfelt with the knowledge that she's also one of the educators in the field!

Let us know what you think of it!

@anonyLemon4233 I had to read your post immediately :) to see if it is about this wonderful book I read. It is! We read this book as a 'required reading' or 'text' book in one of my senior classes at university. As someone who is diagnosed with Bipolar disorder myself, parts of it were really hard to read (like on the triggering side). I very much appreciate how Dr Kay Redfield Jamison writes and how she adds her personal experiences to what she learns and knows professionally.

Has anyone read, I think it's called "Touched By Fire," also by Dr Jamison?? It was made into a movie, but I have not seen it yet. I think this is one where I would much rather read the book first. ~ BooksHugs ❤️
