Comfort Items

My phone... where I can listen to songs like Life Goes On and Magic Shop

That's a great comfort item. I can definitely relate to finding comfort in gifts from friends. I have two stuffed animals that I use as comfort items. One is a stuffed rabbit that I've had since I was a really little kid. The other is a stuffed toy that my friend gave me in high school after I got out of an abusive relationship. My stuffed rabbit is a lot bigger so I usually just hold it at home when I'm upset, but the gift from my friend is tiny so sometimes when I'm in a really bad place I just carry it around in my bag. It's a nice little reminder that I have people who care.

My music or my son is the only things that bring me comfort nowadays

Getting lost in a book and my Yorkie bring me ultimate comfort. Just being able to get out of my head and read something that has nothing to do with what’s going on with me is the best. Gives me a chance to disconnect and calm down my intrusive thoughts. My little Yorkie giving me emotional support is always the best also.

My pillow is my best friend it soaks my tears every night

Horses are currently my greatest passion in life. A friend who knows about the Hell I’ve been walking through lately, has gotten me a beautiful, sweet, plush stuffed horse. I’ve connected to it right away and whenever I’m in a lot of pain or just having a hard moment, I will find myself holding it tight across my body and caressing it carefully. It reminds me that no matter how many people have been backing off me because of my bipolar and other extensive mental health struggles, there will always be that one person who’ll still be there for you. We have to look hard for those angels and we’ll eventually find them.

My comfort items are my phone for music and the sailor moon blanket my sister bought me.

Hi, what are your comfort items, do you have any?

Mine is my tennis racket, which was a gift for my 18th birthday. I used it for 4 years and called it Lucky. I don't use it now but it has become my comfort item which I turn to most days. I feel I need it at this time.

I also have an adorable little bear which was given to me when I was like 4 I think. She's become my little comforter and I keep her close to me all the time. She always manages to bring a smile to my face.
