Time is being weird

Might be a weird question but has anybody noticed how fast the days are? Everything is going so fast recently, I don't remeber what happened yesterday, or earlier today... I keep forgetting about how two years has passed and end up thinking I'm two years younger then I really am. But especially that last couple weeks, it feels like it's going by way too fast. I don't have a very good memory and every day is sort of melting together. I feel sorta anxious about it, I feel like I'm losing control. Everything keeps happening so fast

Oh yes, I totally agree. I'm usually getting the days of the week mixed up the past 2 years too. I haven't been working since end of January this year, and I lose track of the days. I'm usually 2 days ahead.. Scaring myself that I've past deadlines for school assignments!~

I can definitely relate to that. My perception of time has been so messed up. But to me it feels like more time has passed than it actually did. In the evening it feels like the morning of that day was a few days ago.

Yes, I definitely feel this! We live in the most face paced society to date which means the only way to slow down is to be very intentional about it. I literally have to interrupt my own stream of consciousness and return myself to the present moment over and over and over again.

I experience rumination which sounds very similar to what you're describing.

Interestingly enough, most of my psychosis symptoms were linked to PTSD experiences. PTSD flashbacks have caused me to lose my sense of time and space more than once. I had to develop strange coping skills like sitting in the sunshine. I later learned that I was using grounding techniques which can be very helpful!

Grounding techniques consist of anything that stimulates the five senses to keep us grounded in the present moment when reality starts to slip. Holding ice, burning candles, drinking tea, going outside, your favorite soft blanket, engaging in any art form, and listening to music can all help.

I hope you're feeling more stable today.

Yes, I understand. I raised 8 kids over 12 years. They’re not five years olds anymore. This one is almost 17 years old. I wake up every morning thinking “This day is going to be as slow as I allow it to be, because you’re gonna wake up five years later crying.”
