Memory Loss and Bipolar

@StrawberryPancakes I have the same problem! It’s really frustrating because there are things I don’t remember and my family gets upset with me because I don’t remember. It could be little silly things as well. You are not dumb at all and sometimes our brain turns things off and forgets as a defense mechanism if we have suffered from trauma. I hope you have a better day!

@StrawberryPancakes Thank you for sharing. If you are on medication, it can be the side effects of some meds. When I was on Latuda I couldn't think straight, so I had to change medication. If you feel this way for a long time, maybe you could check with your doctor. Otherwise, in general, feelings and concentration after a depression take a while to come back. Hope it helps!

I was told that while in mania your distracted by so many different ideas that you don't properly record to short term memory. Normally you loose your ability to focus. Rapidly changing from ideal to ideal is annoying to say the least

My lack of recall is alarming

When you are mad in mania, mad like this, you don't know it. Reality is what you see. When what you see shifts, departing from anyone else's reality, it's still reality to you At these times these distortions in my thinking are factually flawed. Accepting the truths of others even if It's hard to accept their versions of events is challenging to say the least.

This cause paranoia until you accept that your mind records incorrectly. While in mania I often record major things to my phone. It's alarming how my mind can disgaurd events

When not in mania I have no memory issues.
