Everything feels like it’s falling apart

I feel like everything has been piling up lately, and I’m honestly overwhelmed.

I recently lost my job with CYFD during my probationary period. The reasons they gave don’t match what I experienced, and I feel like I wasn’t given a fair opportunity to address any concerns before being dismissed. It’s been incredibly frustrating because I feel like my side of the story was never truly heard.

At the same time, I finally found a clinical internship that will help me become a licensed mental health therapist, which is something I’ve worked toward for a long time. The downside is that it’s unpaid, so I’m applying everywhere I can trying to find work that will fit around it. Until then, I’ll have to rely on my partner financially, and I hate feeling like I’m becoming a burden, even though I know he doesn’t see me that way.

On top of that, we have to leave our rental after receiving a 30-day notice. There’s a lot behind that situation that I don’t even have the energy to get into right now. Thankfully, JP is buying us a piece of land, and we’re planning to camp there while we figure out our next steps.

I know people say difficult seasons don’t last forever, but right now it feels like life just keeps hitting me from every direction. I’m trying so hard not to give up, but today I’m exhausted and needed somewhere safe to let it all out.

Hello @Hopeful0001

Thanks for sharing with us. and I'm sorry that we didn't reach out in response/support sooner...

With all that is going on in your circle, have you taken time to just sit with yourself (instropecting, finding, resting, enjoying and loving yourself)?

hi thank you. I’ve been looking for work

@Hopeful0001

Okay, I hope you get the right job. How's your job-search coming along? What's your ideal job? Do you prefer customer service (in person, online), distribution, marketing, inventory?

Hi thank you.  I have an interview tomorrow. I am not picky about the jobs I have been applying to. I have experience in healthcare, customer service, sales, and social services. The interview I have tomorrow is a caregiving job.

Hello @Hopeful0001

So, how are you feeling today?

My dear Hopeful,
It certainly does seem as though "life" is attacking from every direction at once at the moment. I wish to add my support, let you know you're not alone and try and help you figure out some answers that may give you some measure of control back.

In my opinion the way back is to prioritise your needs and attend to them in the most important order you can put them in.

This is, with us, a safe place to let it out, to share and, hopefully, get some ideas to move forward. May I ask, what do you you see your priorities as at the moment, from most important to least important?
Respectfully,
D.

Well met Hopeful, good to hear from you. Then you already have the first two goals on your list to focus on. My advice, for what it might be worth, is to focus on these two things and try not to let anything else interfere with that in mind.

It is inevitable, given that "life" is the way it is, that something else will try and intrude upon the "plan", if you can put those "interferences" aside. They will, ultimately, become items 3 and onward in YOUR plan. You're the boss my friend.

Good journey.
Namaste,
D.

That honestly sounds like a lot to be carrying all at once. Losing your job, trying to make an unpaid internship work, worrying about finances, and then having to move on top of everything else would overwhelm pretty much anyone.

I’m glad you at least found the clinical internship, especially since becoming a licensed therapist is something you’ve been working toward for a long time. Even though it doesn’t solve the financial side right now, it sounds like an important step toward where you actually want to be.

And I can understand why depending on your partner financially would feel uncomfortable, even if he doesn’t see you as a burden. When you’re used to taking care of yourself, that kind of change can be really hard.

You definitely don’t have to explain the whole housing situation if you don’t have the energy for it. I mostly just wanted to say I read everything you wrote and I’m sorry you’re having to deal with so much at the same time.

What kind of work are you looking for right now that would fit around your internship schedule?
