Need suggestion on career decisions and how to break the walls that I have created for myself
Hello all,
This is my first time writing on a community page so pardon if I go wrong somewhere.
So, I'm a student and due to constantly failing too many entrance exams for past 2 years, I am too stuck with guilt and pressure regarding my career at the moment, enough to make me feel suffocated.
So, I read a statement somewhere that "feeling of being left behind shouldn't come to anyone since we ain't following anyone in the first place. We all have our own paths." I want to ask, how exactly is the path different? I mean, my same batchmate who pursued same courses as me since childhood passed school and graduated WITH me and now is doing higher studies in exact same discipline as I wish to.. then how are we different? Just the aftermath may be different, say they want to settle down and I don't, etc.. BUT till we both reach THAT phase of our lives.. ain't our path the same?
If so, I AM lagging behind, right? I mean, I know and I am not looking for validation but so then, how to overcome this feeling? Because it's not letting me move on and focus on the things that I want to do anymore. The mere feeling of studying is fading away. I don't socialize or do hobbies (so pls don't include that in suggestions- they've stopped working for me completely) I didn't even go to my previous college where I was called to give a speech as the batch topper since all that seems to be fading for me. Any suggestions? Anything?
Even critics would be appreciated, I don't mind them, I have become habitual of listening about the failure that I've become from the people around me, so anything (positive as well as negative) would be appreciated.

the path is different simply because......... it may not be the path but what you encounter along the way.......... if imagining a literal vision of walking down a path and someone going the same direction either meets an obstacle or shortcut that you somehow avoided or did not see....or someone rushing down the path convinced the best is at the end vs someone who soaks in the things along the way ..of the journey
i feel too many become impatient or want to change or give up when they start believing they are lagging behind when in reality seldom is anyone really keeping score.
The path is different because we each experience our lives differently. Having the same dreams, wanting to go down the same path, it is only having the same trail of thought. The path, how each person gets there, varies person-to-person. There will not be 2 people who will ever walk down the same path, experience life exactly the same ways, or have the same ideas in life. Even twins walk down different paths. They may have that special bond with one another, but their paths will be different.
So, with the same batchmates who had similar dreams than you, seem to be doing better and well on their way with higher education. That is their path, that is how things work out for them. It doesn't mean that you're off-track or lagging behind, you have your own pace to follow, own path to create. The most important part of finding your own path, is to not give up!~
