Im a careworker and I experience a lot of anxiety in my job, the individuals I look after have dementia and some are end of life. Many people don’t understand the grief and exhaustion that comes with this and I’m looking for people to talk to outside of work that may have the same struggles.

family and friends don’t tend to understand what I’m feeling 😩

@Bethhanajones

Im sorry to hear you are experiencing a lot of work stress and I get it!

My grandparents own a hospice and most of my family works in end of life care and i understand that it can be hard and stressful. And it must feel scary at times as well.

@Bethhanajones

That is a very difficult position. I'm sure that you get very close to your patients, and going through the end of life with them after working with them so closely must be very difficult.

How long have you been doing this work?

What do you love about what you do?

Anxiety is a challenge. When do you tend to experience anxiety the most? Has anything helped with this?

I'm really glad you posted.

I feel for you. That's a very draining job emotionally, mentally and physically. I can relate some as my mother had dementia and I did my best to take care of her before she passed.

You are a very special person to take on such work. What you need to do in your time off is take time to care for and nurture yourself.

Personally, I have found that guided meditation helps with my anxiety. It helps to calm and center me. I hope you find something that works for your anxiety.
