How do personal boundaries help you practice self-care? Do you need to work on your boundaries?

@Heather225

With my boundaries I want to make sure that I'll stay true to myself. That's very important to me. Sometimes it doesn't work though because I want to help everyone and make them happy so sometimes I brake my own boundaries to live up to other people, which I know i not very good...

My personal boundaries make me strong. They give me the ability to say no without guilt, when I'm not able to give to another person. They help me remember that I matter.

They also remind me that others have personal boundaries too and that I need to respect them.

@Heather225 I guess I do need to work on my boundaries. But I guess the ones that I do have now allow me to have a little more time for myself. Like if I say no to some extra responsibilities, then that means I can have some more time to do the things I can't avoid, you know.

I am autistic and touch is an issue for me. Since realising that I do not have to always hug people, I have felt so much more comfortable.

Boundaries are super important for self-care and general health in my opinion. Being able to set firm boundaries, my mental and physical health has improved a lot in the last couple of months.
