Introducing the Q&A Lantern Project
by SoulfullyAButterfly
Last post
April 19th
...See more Are you ready to make a difference in someone's life? Your insights can be a beacon of hope for others struggling with their own challenges. Join us in our Q&A Lantern Project to revitalize our Q&A section and spread hope and support throughout our community. By "lighting the way," we mean providing direction, support, or inspiration to others, especially during challenging times. Just as a lantern illuminates a path, our actions and words can help others navigate their own journeys and find their way forward. Here's how it works: * Every week, we'll highlight 10 Q&A posts seeking your insights and experiences. * Share your wisdom and compassion by answering these questions using the themes mentioned alongside the questions.  * For each answer you provide, you'll receive 10 cheers as a token of our appreciation. * Bonus: Answer all 10 questions, and you'll be rewarded with a generous 100 cheers! Think of yourself as a lantern, guiding others through the darkness. Your words can illuminate their path, offering hope and direction. Together, we can create a brighter, more supportive space for everyone. Want to be tagged when this project officially launches on Monday? Join the taglist here [https://forms.gle/zSUu9P6p2ZNsXBtU9]

"One new thing I've learned today..." (Daily sharing thread!)

...See more "Curiosity is the wick in the candle of learning." — William Arthur Ward ------------------------- Think of your brain as a muscle: the more you use it, the stronger and more flexible it becomes. Learning something new is the ultimate mental workout. It keeps your mind sharp and actually builds new neural pathways, paving the way for fresh ideas and perspectives. The benefits of actively learning one new thing each day go on and on. And with the vastness of the internet at our fingertips, there's really no excuse not to! Recently, I've been challenging myself to find new information every day so that by the time I go to bed, I can say I learned something. I usually share this tidbit with my partner, both to solidify the knowledge in my head and to give them something new! And I thought it would be a great idea to expand the knowledge pool and challenge our community: Every day, learn something new and share it here in this thread. It doesn't have to be a groundbreaking scientific discovery, merely a factoid, a wellness tip, a song, life lesson, or a revelation about yourself! "Today I learned..."

How they're raising their children

...See more Even though I'm brown (Mexican American) I have family members who are half black. So it's always interesting to learn about other cultures. I like to watch this black woman on YouTube that is like a good role model for those who don't have one at home. These two links are TW ways in which kids have been raised because they didn't know any better. I always like to see her opinion for challenging humans to be better. https://youtu.be/BUGRogxz1G8?si=N8-IpEDkgyiNIsal thats one video here's another https://youtu.be/-XoIr7LJlRc?si=AyitTmQPpI5dU-8c it scares me when people behave this way. So I'm glad people like that black youtuber or even Michelle Obama exist as role models or guidance

Helping the homeless

...See more Just read an article with a video, showing the grand opening of 50 units, 100 beds temporary stay from 6 months to a year and a half. For homeless people to get back on their feet in los Angeles. I wish this existed everywhere, that there would be enough to house all homeless people. But what do they do with those like me who don't want to work? Who knows that they struggle being around people. How do people like that get help? When being on the street brings more peace than a job. I'm still trying to figure it out. Wish Governments would provide UBI like Andrew Yang suggested. It should be a basic right to receive shelter , food and water, toilet paper and tampons and clothes for every season. Anyway if the government isn't doing it, glad to see the state is trying.https://abc7.com/videoClip/19358105/

Praying for my mom

...See more After my mom divorced her husband who isn't my father she had to move into a one bedroom apartment because her took her house. She has multiple sclerosis and has fallen outside several times to where she's been left with bruises. Although she heals eventually it's unfortunate because her neighbors don't even attempt to offer any assistance. She literally just lays on the cold or hot pavement after falling and my sister has to drive like 25 minutes to help her. No one calls the ambulance or anything. No hospitality at all. Just a bunch of selfish people chain smoking all day in their homes. What a world we live in....

how do you feel about...

...See more Hey friends Just want to know about your experiences in your culture - wherever you may be from. Are you at peace with the kind of interactions and exchanges that happen, or are you secretly annoyed by a lot of things and tagging along the crowd anyway? What are some of the things that irk you in your surroundings with respect to socialising? What are some of the things you appreciate about your society? You dont have to share name of your city or anything. I am just curious to hear what are the feelings around today. -------------- For me.....  today I am feeling really miffed with: - people sending u bad energies. Like having malice in their heart from envy / competition. Its not even that these people are of your age group or same profession. Its really random. It makes me sad to see society around me having degraded to this level. Today I received a comment on a marriage app Im using "you will keep waiting around for it".... ive usually been the type to walk away from such negativity but recently im changing my approach. So i replied to the person "i wish you the same. Actually worse."  ... If we are playing a game of random hate, then I am gona join it as a fun participant instead of sulking about being a victim. Lol. - I feel really really put off with males trying to squeeze any advantage out of women whenever they get a chance. Its like you always have to be on guard about your safety and its not very comfortable functioning in this way. Today i had a procedure with a doctor and he has some sleaze in him but im sticking with him because its recommended to complete the procedure from where u started. So u have to tolerate some stuff. So my face skin was a bit rough and I asked him for any solution and hes like oh let me see.. and he looked at my face and then moved his hands over my arms and then he goes ohh so the skin on ur arms is fine , ill give u a cream for ur face..... like im not dumb. Sliding ur hands over my bare arms wasnt necessary at all to know if the skin is fine or not & i only asked for face anyway! - I cant stand sexual shaming either ... again this doctor person. Hes a married person and then he started saying to me "u know once men know the girl is in her 30s shes likely not a virgin and then they cant think about marriage with her. They only think about flings. That might be happening with u." >>>>> like he was trying to inquire if i was a virgin or not, assuming I wasnt. And it was just ewwww. unasked for. Maybe it was a way of asking if im open to having a fling with him? .... yuck -  - I cant stand people mistreating those lower in financial status. Its arrogance of a very bad form. It makes me feel really hurt simply witnessing it. my father is constantly doing this to our hired helps.... its so so shameful. And he mistreats family members too of course especially my mother ... he screamed and insulted her today... she is already suffering from depression but the abuse isnt ending.. theyre like 70+ and its so painful seeing that this man has learnt no behavioral etiquette till now .. What are the good things from todays experience? Well I had some people give me smiles. It felt good.  The technician who drew my blood for the procedure was super gentle and caring. Thats about it. Thanks for listening.  --------- @Amanda84 @Torean @YourCaringConfidant @mytwistedsoul

...See more I was on 7cups and I was talking to a listener and then they asked for some personal info and to chat outside of the platform and I agreed and then we chatted and they said they're 27 and they asked for my state and pictures of my cuts. I refused. They also keep saying stuff like "holds you" and “kisses your arm" and I felt kinda uncomfortable so l blocked and reported them they also told me not to tell anyone about my cuts or the convo and they know im 14. I told a coach on a dif app and he said he reported it to DHS and I’m scared my parents will be contacted because of it. He said my parents probably wouldn’t be, but he can’t guarantee anything
