7 Cups currently has separate dedicated teams that focus on both Content and Marketing. This discussion outlines both teams and provides an overview of their current focus.

(A) Content Volunteer Team

The Content Volunteer Team was relaunched and redesigned in 2020 and is led by @SoulfullyAButterfly - more information including an application can be found here

Focus:

The team works to improve site content in the following areas:

(i) Questions and Answers (Q&A Pages): Quality answers are researched and written in light of search engine optimization (SEO) and other best practices to ensure that the community gets verified, valuable information in response to common mental health questions and concerns. These answers are considered “short tasks” as they involve quicker content production.

(ii) Expert Mental Health News and Advice Section: Existing, published articles are reviewed to ensure up-to-date information, quality length, expert verified facts and other important topic categories by editors.

In addition, fresh content is produced for:

(iii) Expert Mental Health News and Advice Section: Alongside fresh content provided by experts, the team works to research and produce relevant fresh content articles that help boost information and awareness related to the categories that 7 Cups offers expertise in. Writers are welcome to collaborate with experts to publish co-authored articles or produce content individually to be published under the 7 Cups Community Account.

(iv) All other Content Needs: The team is ready to tackle and undertake content tasks that may come up as other needs. These content assignments can relate to listener guides, upcoming growth path playlists, improvement and support of online therapy-related information as well as many other possibilities!

(B) Team Lightship

As a revamp to the Social Soldiers Team at 7 Cups, Project Lightship was announced in late 2020 as the current volunteer-led marketing team for 7 Cups on Twitter. It is currently being led by @Rebecca947 and @Isentropic

Focus:

The team intends to eliminate mental health stigma by identifying those who need support as presented by social media (Twitter) based messages. The team not only works on bringing awareness by using and promoting mental health-based content but actively outreaches to potential users in need of a safe haven to invite them to use 7 Cups.

The team currently has one track with a focus on:

(i) Outreaching to 20 people with compassionate messages and support per month

(ii) Generating content and posting 5 posts.

As the team is currently testing only one track, we can expect future opportunities with the growth of Team Lightship! Further information, including an application, can be found here

Other Social Media Platforms for Content:

In the meantime, 7 Cups has official accounts on social media platforms that are run by community admins. Students of this current course as well as the Content Team will prospectively add to these content and content marketing efforts!

@SoulfullyAButterfly
I am interested in creating graphics for social media handles because I have prior experience in social media marketing and content development, also I am a mental health enthusiast.

Greetings to all,

I am thrilled to be part of this journey with 7 Cups Academy and look forward to contributing to the amazing work being done here. With a profound passion for not only mental health advocacy but also for storytelling, I find that most of my interests align perfectly with the Content Team.

My background in communications, journalism, and digital media has led to my career, and even my life, being all about making impactful content that resonates and connects. I consider this part of my mission to enhance well-being and mental health, which finds a natural home at 7 Cups. I'm excited to join this team and get to work on making the content that serves all of you even better.

My primary excitement over this concentrate stems from the opportunity to produce not just informative but also uplifting and empowering content for those traveling the mental health path. My focus is on kindling awareness, nurturing community, and inspiring hope through the work we do, and I couldn’t ask for better or more fitting companions on that journey than the Content Team at 7 Cups.

The Team Lightship works with social media, and that work is undoubtedly important. But my strengths and passions are in creating something with a bit more depth—longer, slower content that can actually take root and have a lasting impact. I'm excited to learn from and partner with Lightship's team and the other content creators they support to make the kind of content that can spark real social change.

I appreciate this chance, and I'm looking forward to doing my part, however small, to help 7 Cups fulfill its mission!

With great warmth,

Antonio Matta

@SoulfullyAButterfly

As a part of Coursework Part-1, I'm interested in Content Volunteer Team. The Q&A series with Experts News and Advice section perfectly blend with my area of interest.

Both teams sound very insightful!

I am leaning toward Team Lightship simply because its tasks align more with my goals. My goal is to learn how to build stronger connections with individuals and I strongly believe being a team member will help me achieve this goal.

Also, this is just a suggestion but maybe 7cups could branch out to other social media apps! Lots of people use Twitter (X) but we can always try using other apps as well. Please let me know what your guy's thoughts are on this, or have you attempted this before?

@chantellenguyen

You're welcome to use whatever app you want. I believe the whole system runs mostly on the honor system anyway.

I think I'm more interested in Questions and Answers (Q&A Pages) and Expert Mental Health News and Advice Section.

But I'm not sure If I understand correctly, english is not my first language and I should also see what is done exactly.

I be more interested in the content creation or edit since I like to write.

Even though I have no experience I think I could do them.

Also I don't have Twitter and idk how to use it so thats is a big deal in my choice

@SoulfullyAButterfly Team B, Lightship is my choice because it presents me with a feeling of gratitude to share this website for others whom may derive needed benefit. I have done so in the past incidentally to a few persons but will favourable to make attempt extensively as a Lightship member.

As I know having my own personal struggles it was really beneficial to find the support.

Thank you for the opportunity🌷

I'm really interested in the Content Volunteer Team of the CDM program because I really like making content in the form of writing articles and graphic designing. Learning about how to improve my writing skills and using best practices for SEO will help me in creating quality content and articles.

1)      Introduction to Content and Marketing at 7 Cups

I believe my skill set is more aligned with the area of Content. I love the subject of research and writing, so I would be more productive in this field.

I am an individual who has not engaged in social media. (very “old school”) The only example shown here I can relate to is YouTube, of which I have used frequently. In my past I have relied heavily on YouTube, after googling about topics such as cooking, household handyman tips, auto mechanics, and anything else I want to do on my own that I need a quick tutorial on. In one of my jobs, I actually took an extremely useful course on QuickBooks Accounting which helped out tremendously in my profession at that time. So, from firsthand account I can testify how practical many views on You Tube can be. It is user friendly, and free. Well almost, you just have to skip the commercials.

So, to reiterate I am a huge fan of YouTube. Other than that, social media is foreign to me. I have never had a *** account, or any of the others. I have limited knowledge and experience with any social media platform. That is actually what drew my attention to signing up for this course, so that I would hopefully broaden my horizons about social media. I know it is not all bad. (smile…)
