Continue writing superhero stories! Check out here to create your superhero character.

Life can be rough, and writers humanize superheroes by describing they face mental health challenges too.

Daredevil described struggles with depression, while Batman struggles with PTSD even after years passed.

The son of Charles Xavier, Legion, carries with him many great powers. Unfortunately, each power comes with its unique personality. Some have good intentions, but others are not. He is suffering from a form of dissociative identity disorder.

Hank Pym, The Ant-Man, struggles with Bipolar and The Riddler fights OCD.

After being buried beneath tons of rubble, Storm developed claustrophobia (intense fear of tight spaces), where she may enter a near-catatonic state.

In light of that, what mental health challenges does your superhero face? Can you write a paragraph to describe it?

A takeaway: We can always try to be a 'superhero' for ourselves and others despite whatever mental health challenge/s we face.

I have a friend. He suffered from heavy depression, bipolar disorder, anorexia. Now he stabilized, has a good health, created a family, does his job on a top level. Everything is possible if we want to change our lifes. He is my hero.

@ForeverYoungAndKind

Thank you 💜

I guess the saying is true:

When there's a will, there's a way.

He's indeed a hero for himself, family and friends and you spread hope by sharing the story. You're also a hero!💡🤗

I suffer from a form of Dissociative Identity Disorder...

It's hard for me to function normal like other people, and even though I've been working on it, it's still hard for me.

But sometimes, not giving up is one of the bravest things you can do.

KEEP FIGHTING!!!

So, on the characters I mentioned before.

Salamandra definitely struggles with distrust, having found out horrible things. Also, she struggles with the absurdity and loneliness of being able to influence and sense people's emotions and intentions. She wants to take a stand for things like removing corruption and helping people think and live for themselves.

As for Desh, poor guy saw the girl he loved die in front of him... But she was just a creation of Lex Luthor's anyway. Between that and how he discovered his powers almost getting eaten by an underwater monster, he has a lot of trauma to deal with. He also struggles with morality. He doesn't at this point believe in wasting time with non-lethal means of making villains like Luthor pay, and he has a resentment for heroes that allow villains to come back and cause more harm. Still, he's surrounded by heroes that feel otherwise and became fast friends with Static Shock.

My superhero fights a type of bipolar. . . they are also dealing with personalities. . . They want to save the world, but they have family issues. They are oldest of seven siblings. Her parents had two sets of triplets due to pregnancy meds and now she had to split her times helping her family and helping the world around her. She can read mind and as much as appreciates knowing the truth, she constantly feels like she is stuck in the middle. Help the guy who is afraid to talk to his crush who likes him back or help her younger brother with his math homework? Helping makes her happy, but she is so torn that she is always on the urge of a sadness break down. . . She wants to be everyone's everything and leaves so time or space for herself.
(I can totally relate.)
