oh man, I have lots of fav. books. if Manga counts I say my fav. manga is Given. It is an emotional story of music and depression and how it affects everyone.
but I will say one book that always comes back to me is Becoming Nicole a story of a transgender youth who tells her story as she was transitioning and learning who she is.
