@Hope

Thanks for asking! 🌝

I recently learned about WRAP!

It's short for
Wellness Recovery Action Plan.

What really inspired me is that WRAP seems very versatile.

It can be used for all different types of mental and physical health situations.

Here is a brief Wikipedia article:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recovery_model

And here is the WRAP website article webpage:

https://www.wellnessrecoveryactionplan.com/wrap-overview/

What inspires me about WRAP specifically is where they say you can:

  • "Discover your own simple, safe wellness tools"

  • "Develop a list of things to do every day to stay as well as possible"

  • "Identify upsetting events, early warning signs and signs that things have gotten much worse and, using wellness tools, develop action plans for responding at these times"

  • "Create a crisis plan"

  • "Create a post-crisis plan"

  • "WRAP is for anyone, any time.
It will support you in being the way you want to be and doing the things you want to do."

I like that example WRAP plans have been made for many types of challenges, like:

  • Loneliness and friendship starting over
  • Weight-loss
  • Managing diabetes
  • Depression
  • Veteran's issues
  • Difficult times
  • Crisis management

I like how it has a format that anyone can use for any situation:

  • Wellness Toolbox creation
  • Daily Plan creation
  • Stressor identification
  • Early warning signs
  • Crisis plan
  • Post-crisis plan

WRAP seems to be a generic growth path that anyone can adapt for their situation.

  • People help themselves by creating the items above for their needs

  • People in the WRAP community help each other use the WRAP methodology

  • Participants seem to use the WRAP plan long-term

  • Participants say WRAP helps them get better and better

  • WRAP recently got recognized as an evidence-based solution (in limited ways)

I'll look into WRAP further and maybe make a Community Growth Path that explains WRAP

I think generic adaptable methodologies like WRAP can have big advantages.

  • They keep people focused on creating an overall solutions for themselves

  • They keep people focused on improving their solutions

  • They help people create healthy living habits and routines they need for their situations

  • They help people develop and live a growth mindset needed for their situations

As you can see, I'm very inspired! 🌝
