Checking in with ourselves: How are you doing today?
Hello Content Development and Marketing Community‼️
I wanted to start a discussion on something that’s been on my mind lately: the importance of checking in with ourselves. In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it’s easy to get caught up in external demands and overlook our own internal well-being. But taking the time to check in with ourselves is crucial for maintaining both mental and physical health.
Some reasons why checking in with ourselves matters:
❤︎ Gain Control Over Our Emotions ❤︎
Checking in with ourselves helps us stay connected to our emotions, thoughts, and needs. It allows us to recognize patterns in our behavior and feelings, which can lead to personal growth and self-improvement. By understanding what’s really going on inside, we can make more informed decisions about our lives and set goals that align with our true selves.
❤︎ Manage Stress ❤︎
Regular self-check-ins can be a powerful tool for managing stress. When we pause to evaluate how we’re feeling, we can identify sources of stress early on and take proactive steps to address them. This could mean adjusting our workload, reaching out for support, or simply taking a break to recharge.
❤︎ Prioritize Self-Care ❤︎
Taking time for self-reflection helps us prioritize self-care and make choices that contribute to our overall well-being. Whether it’s setting boundaries, pursuing hobbies, or practicing mindfulness, checking in with ourselves can guide us toward activities and habits that promote a happier and healthier life.
❤︎ Prevent Burnout ❤︎
In a world where we’re constantly juggling multiple responsibilities, it’s easy to push ourselves to the brink of exhaustion. Regular self-check-ins can serve as a reminder to balance our work and personal lives, ensuring we don’t neglect our own needs in the process.

Let’s use this space to share our experiences and ways for checking in with ourselves:
❤︎ Has self-reflection been a part of your routine?
❤︎ If yes, have you noticed any benefits from making self-checking in a part of your routine?
❤︎ If no, what are your thoughts on making self-checking in a part of your routine?
❤︎ Share your methods of self-checking in ❤︎

Right now I feel hopeful, though recently I have felt disappointed. In the past, I have been very good at consistence, adaptability, and self discipline in the areas of self care maintained by self-reflection and self-checking. In the past year or so, though, I have found myself falling out of this routine and into the clutches of burnout and feeling stuck. While I have been able to maintain general health and stick to my priorities and commitments, overall I still believe I need some serious self care to get me back on my feet. Luckily, though, this is very attainable! Therefore I feel hopeful and excited about the changes being made to my life that will benefit my overall health!
A beautiful post as always!
My current mood like this 😊
I don't always examine my feelings during my routine because sometimes I don't understand my feelings or what they are due to, but sometimes I try at the end of the day to review myself during that day and ask myself whether the feelings were correct and my reaction at the time was correct or not as a kind of self-control later on
@PetiteSouris
❤︎ If yes, have you noticed any benefits from making self-checking in a part of your routine? Some benefits that I noticed is feeling calm in stressful situations, taking caring of myself more as you mentioned in the post, and being able to maintain my boundaries like saying no to others.❤︎ Share your methods of self-checking in ❤︎ I check in with myself anytime I feel I need to do so, I dont have a set specific time, I ask myself questions like, " How are you feeling at this time," " Was that the right choice of a meal to eat" " Was that the proper way to react to his response."
I love this post. It was beautifully written, and a good way to remind us to look after ourselves.

I enjoyed reading all the ways you self-checkin,
It appears to be beneficial in your daily life.
I wish this was an exercise taught in schools, and maybe its being taught now
But when I was in elementary school, I didn't have this coping skill.
Were you taught socio emotional skills at school?

♡
@PetiteSouris
I didn't have this skill in my school
My current mood is cared because I’m scared of what’s going to happen in the near future… I don’t really like to self check in because it makes me feel even sadder so I try to get busy so I can’t think about my sadness
@Fifaadict123
Thinking about the future can certainly feel scary.
I feel that keeping busy maybe your way of self-checking in.
What do you say to that?

♡
I say that you are right 😁
My mood is nervous . I have a job interview and I’m not sure what to expect tomorrow. I have been exercising and seeing friends to relax myself.
@PetiteSouris
My current mood is like 😴!
I have been very very tired recently and its honestly hard to keep up with daily tasks but I try! I self-reflect occasionally, I think I am very aware, so I mostly have a 3rd person view on myself and I love to ask my friends what they think about my actions! I think its beneficial since I have more awareness of myself and a better understanding of how I react to certain environments and situations!
@MxdnightFaerie
Hang in there, and know that it’s okay to lean on your support system. You’re doing a great job!
