Oftentimes, when we read a book or watch a movie/series, we come across lines and dialogues that are immensely impactful for us.

What is one such line/dialogue/scene that has made itself home in your heart and why?

Feel free to add multiple!

@Clarisse29 " You are the knife I turn insinde my self, that my dear, is love". From Franz Kafka, my favorite author! I really think his way of explaining feelings and sensations through words is beautiful.

@Clarisse29 Jane's monologue from paris texas, it's pretty long so i had to search it up because i can never remember it in its entirety. i think it beautifully depicts how's it like to be missing someone you cherish deeply, even reaching a delusional point.

"I used to make long speeches to you after you left. I used to talk to you all the time, even though I was alone. I walked around for months talking to you. Now I don't know what to say. It was easier when I just imagined you. I even imagined you talking back to me. We'd have long conversations, the two of us. It was almost like you were there. I could hear you, I could see you, smell you. I could hear your voice. Sometimes your voice would wake me up. It would wake me up in the middle of the night, just like you were in the room with me. Then... it slowly faded. I couldn't picture you anymore. I tried to talk out loud to you like I used to, but there was nothing there. I couldn't hear you. Then... I just gave it up. Everything stopped. You just... disappeared. And now I'm working here. I hear your voice all the time. Every man has your voice."

It's only with the heart that one can see clearly. What's essential is invisible to the eye.

Its definitely "You're not as vile as I thought you were."

And "But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you. Not even close, not even a bit, not even at all."

Both of these dialogues are from the movie 10 Things I Hate About You. And I like this so much.. Enemies to lovers is the best ^_^

Sometimes you need to step outside, get some air, and remind yourself of who you are and where you want to be.

"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

I feel like it's self explanatory, very popular quote. 😁 But I really love it. Especially because I want to stay motivated for political advocacy but sometimes it's disheartening.

the poem from the perks of being a wallflower. the first time I read that poem I started bawling, that hit me so hard and that was the first book I ever truly related to.

“Homes are for free expression, not good impressions.”

This is from the movie Yours, Mine, and Ours. I was raised that the house should always look “guest ready”. Always neat and tidy. It made my anxiety skyrocket when my parents came to visit because I felt judged if everything wasn’t perfect. This quote i use to remind myself that I live in my home, it is my home, and it’s allowed to look like I actually live here. Home is where I am most comfortable, and if that means I have a TBR pile on the floor, a table covered with painting supplies, and blankets and squishmallows everywhere, then that’s okay!
