What is a line from a book/movie that has stuck with you?
Oftentimes, when we read a book or watch a movie/series, we come across lines and dialogues that are immensely impactful for us.
What is one such line/dialogue/scene that has made itself home in your heart and why?

There are too many lines.
Philip Roth had a bit of dialogue from The Human Stain that caught my attention back when I was a kid.
"In my parents' day and age, it used to be the person who fell short. Now it's the discipline. Reading the classics is too difficult, therefore it's the classics that are to blame. Today the student asserts his incapacity as a privilege. I can't learn it, so there is something wrong with it. And there is something especially wrong with the bad teacher who wants to teach it. There are no more criteria, only opinions."
It seems even more relevant now than it was back then.
Then a line that makes me laugh and is also relevant is from David Morrell.
"Just because somebody smiles when he hands me a bag of [crap], that doesn't mean I have to take it. I don't give a damn how friendly he is. It's what he does that matters."
There are just too many.

It was something my mom used to say alot and then I heard it in series manifest. It has stuck with me because I've had major incidents where my life was in a complete *** but later something happened and then I could connect the dots
