*Possible tw for death of a loved one*

Part of me says that she was all that mattered.

I could have never known that I'd just wake up and she'd be gone that day.  There was no warning whatsoever...

That day was so weird, I wandered so many places.  I hadn't even talked to my boss... I just wandered anywhere that didn't remind me of anything.  I had to get away.

I just started running.  I have no idea how long I was pushing myself.  I was on a forest trail at that point...  The weather was perfect, and it felt free.  Maybe I was free.  I slowed and I thought about it.  The basic gist is this.   I'm just at point A.  She's now at point B.  I can't access point B normally, and I won't entertain the idea.... But when I do, I'll see her again.  So, for now... I could feel like every moment I waste here is pushing her farther away.... but instead, I'm free to start over for other things.  That's what she'd want, isn't it?

I can build myself up, I can invest in more than just myself, I can live to the fullest, and I can bring so much more when I see her again.  Maybe there will be more with us there too.  I don't have to be faraway, I can still be present here.

The strange part is, it's never felt sad since.  It's not a loss, it's a promise.  The exploration and exercise that day were just the beginning.  I want to see as much of the world as I can, and I want to be stronger than I ever would have imagined.  This is just the beginning.

tw- dermatillomania

Deep in a trance

Of picking my skin

And I want to do worse-

I know I can't win

But, trembling,

I manage not to dig too deep

A step backwards, it sucks I know

But it's better than two steps

And not moving at all?

That can count as a step forward for me.

Baby steps, start out small.

And maybe one day

Hopefully I will crawl to the end

And I will heal.
