Recent from Digital Content World:

An update from YouTube for Its Content Creators:

On June 1, 2021, we will update the YouTube Terms of Service to explicitly prohibit the collection of any information that might identify a person without their permission and clarify how we monetize Content on the Service:

Right to Monetize

You grant to YouTube the right to monetize your Content on the Service (and such monetization may include displaying ads on or within Content or charging users a fee for access). This Agreement does not entitle you to any payments. Starting June 1, 2021, any payments you may be entitled to receive from YouTube under any other agreement between you and YouTube (including for example payments under the YouTube Partner Program, Channel memberships or Super Chat) will be treated as royalties. If required by law, Google will withhold taxes from such payments.

YouTube Terms of Service

What does that mean?

All the content creators that have not signed up their partner program will need to include videos chosen by YouTube. Only YouTube will get monetized, the creators will not get any benefit from these videos. These videos will not generate any revenue for the channel owners.

What are the requirements to be in a Partner Program?

1000 subscribers and 4000 public watch hours.

Discussion:

❍ As Content Creators and or Content Creator Enthusiasts, what is your opinion about this update from YouTube? And how do you feel best a Channel Owner can achieve the requirements to be in Partner Program?

❍ As a YouTube user, what type of channel is your favorite? And what do you think about the recent update from the giant social platform?

@ouiCherie Love the therapist idea!

The YouTube policy sounds interesting - does this mean users cannot later monetize content?

I feel that YouTube has various types of areas, I recently found out that poetry is not too popular up there though that is a great idea!

What are other areas we think can be brought to YouTube?

Yeah, ageeed poetry is indeed a great idea. Maybe not as popular as song but it has its own audience.

A long time ago, I remember my aunt used to listened to a drama series in radio, now there's a lot of people made audiobooks from popular books and have many viewer (it is actually listeners as its only audio)

And many amateur writers gained popularities and earned from platforms like Radish and Wattpad where they write chapter by chapter and their readers waiting for new chapter to be uploaded.

But not much yet doing it on YouTube, isn't it? Perhaps more in podcast platforms, but let's face it, nothing yet is as widely use as YouTube. What do you think?

@ouiCherie May has been really good to me.

My birthday is Monday (May 31.), and it is also Memorial Day, in the USA.

I am from the USA, by the way.
